LYDIA BRECKON is a British-European theatre-maker/
composer/performer currently residing in Brooklyn, NY.
Lydia grew up in the wild Highlands of Scotland and was fully immersed in the music, language, and nature that the North has to offer. Traditional folk music has had an impactful influence on her work and musical intuition. During her high school years Lydia moved to Florence, Italy where her parents still live.
Lydia returned to the UK to earn a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Drama from the University of Exeter, and went on to move to the USA to earn her MFA from NYU Tisch School of the Art's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program.
Lydia loves to make work about female relationships, myths, and the sea; and is dedicated to creating theatre that is inclusive, accessible and affordable.
Lydia has performed/shown work at both the Camden Fringe and the Edinburgh Fringe. She is currently Artistic Director for the first annual Tisch Fringe Festival and a Core Company Member at the Root Beer Occasion Theatre Company.
Lydia is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America.
